‘I have now four probationers training in General Hospitals and am sending the fifth away this month. The new regulation has resulted in an increase in the number of applications from probationers who are of a more suitable class than hitherto.’

Medical Committee Minutes Jan 1913 – Dec 1924 NHNN/A/9/3

On the notion of Dr Grainger-Stewart, the Committee resolved that Dr Victor Philip, a refugee from Belgium, be permitted to attend the hospital practice without the payment of a fee.
