Description: A 54 minute film showing Professor C.D. Marsden, FRS (1938-1998) delivering a lecture in 1988 in the Wolfson Lecture theatre at an occasion that celebrated the 40 year affiliation of the National Hospitals Queen Square and Maida Vale in 1988. The title of the lecture was ‘The Next 40 Years.’ The lecture was delivered one year after he had succeeded Roger Gilliatt as Chair of Neurology at the Institute of Neurology. He is introduced by Tom Oakman, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the hospital. Prior to 1987 Marsden had been Professor of Neurology at the Institute of Psychiatry and Kings College Hospital medical school in 1972 where he had built up a school for the training of young neurologists in the field of movement disorders.
