Description: Film showing Professor C.D. Marsden FRS (1938-1998) delivering a lecture entitled ‘The Next 40 Years’ in the Wolfson Lecture Theatre, Queen Square, on 5th November 1988. The lecture followed Dr Peter Gautier-Smith, Chairman of the Medical Committee, giving a lecture entitled "The Past 40 years" Marsden's lecture was delivered one year after he had succeeded Roger Gilliatt as Chair of Neurology at the Institute of Neurology. He is introduced by Tom Oakman, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the hospital. Prior to 1987 Marsden had been Professor of Neurology at the Institute of Psychiatry and Kings College Hospital medical school in 1972 where he had built up a school for the training of young neurologists in the field of movement disorders.
