Access to personal and sensitive data
Queen Square Archives seeks to provide timely and responsible access to the historical records of the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, and the Maida Vale Hospital, to as wide an audience as possible, while operating within the bounds of existing legal, as well as ethical frameworks.
Published material, such as annual reports, are freely available for consultation, as are materials over a 100 years which do not contain personal information.
Authorisation must be sought in advance for access to records containing personal data which is less than 100 years old.
Examples of personal data held in the archives include personnel records, patient admission records, and case notes.
An Access request form must be submitted before you arrive.
Authorised access will be subject to an assigned undertaking, including that no individual shall be able to be identified from the results of the research.
