Date: Oct 1961 Level: Series Admin history: The Maida Vale Hospital Siemens electron microscope was purchased with a grant of £13,564 from the Walter J Palmer Trust in 1960. It was installed in what became known as the Walter Jarvis Palmer Laboratory. Dr Michael Kidd (pictured) was appointed in October 1961 to carry out a study into diseases of the cerebral cortex with special reference to presenile dementia.
